How to be a Perfect Mom.

1.) Don't be scared to ask for advice. If you aren't sure about something , ask. It doesn't make you a bad mom.

2.) Give your child the attention he/she desires. Children just want to be held and loved. Sometimes its just attention that causes tantrums.

3.) Educate; talk to your child as a human. I do not believe in googoogaga talk. If you speak to your child correctly he/she will pick up a lot faster. By repeating words a million times, pointing and telling them what it is and what color, telling them every step you are taking, and just having normal conversations will help them learn a lot faster.

4.)  Play, play, and play. Your child learns from playing. It also helps with imagination, social skills, and physical development. It is a very important part of your child's life.

5.) Patience. Learn to have a lot of it. Having a child is a lot of work and some days you just want to pull your hair out, but just take a big deep breath and smile. Because everything is worth it.

6.) Set a great example. When frustrated show your child how to act and soon he/she will pick up on it. If you have dreams chase them it is never to late. Your child will see that you never gave up. Weather the example is health, love, anger, ext. Always know that your child is watching.

7.) Love. Love unconditionally no matter what choices your child makes. No matter how angry you are always show that you love them.

8.) Cuddle. Cuddle a lot. Cuddling helps your baby develop a secure attachment to you. The bond developed effects your child later in life in terms of self-confidence, healthy individuation and exploration, expression of empathy, social relationships and ability to cope with life stressors.

9.)Teach them simplicity. You will do them a big favor, if you teach them at a young age to avoid associating happiness with the accumulation of material possessions.

10.)Teach them self-esteem.  High self-esteem is the single most important gift that a parent can give their child. A person with a high self-esteem values themselves and will not get into, or stay in, an abusive relationship. A person with high self-esteem is more likely to be happy and to reach their full potential. show them that you value them, by spending time with them, and by talking with them and listening to them.

11.)Teach them to be self reliant. It’s very tempting to help your child in a way that robs them of the opportunity to help themselves. At every developmental stage your child reaches, he/she can do things by themselves. If you do them for him/her, you are not really helping , but rather holding them back. Gently teach them independence and let him/her do what they can do, and what is appropriate for them to do, by theirself. The sense of accomplishment that comes with being independent is very important for your child.

12.)And last but not least, realize you will never be a " perfect mom" no one is perfect. As long as you do your best that is all that matter. Screw what everyone else thinks. As long as you feel in your heart that you are trying your best then you are a "perfect mom" in your child's eyes and that is all that matters.

Coconut oil for moms and baby

Coconut oil has been used for many years as a natural everything. I personally love it and use it everyday as a lotion, tooth paste, makeup remover, and for hair. I did not know about these benifets of using it before, during, and after pregnancy so I thought I would share it with y'all. If coconut oil is in your life what do you use it for?

Before pregnancy

Coconut oil can regulate your hormones and help with ovulation and conception.

For Baby

Lauric Acid
-Coconut oil contains Lauric Acid, a medium chain triglyceride ( only found in mother’s milk and coconut oil. (Ratios are identical between human milk and coconut oil)

Make Baby’s skin silky smooth
Rub a small amount on baby’s skin for moisturizing.

Teething tool
Rub a little bit of coconut oil on baby’s gums as a natural pain-relieving alternative.

Natural Diaper Rash Cream
Use coconut oil for an all natural alternative.

Natural Vapor Rub
Mix coconut oil with extra virgin olive oil and rub on baby’s chest to help clear congestion.

Cradle cap
Put some on babies cradle cap and it will heal very quickly.

For Mommy

Milk Supply
Taking 3 1/2 tbs. or more per day may increase milk supply.

Immune Booster
Coconut oil has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties that can help strengthen Mom’s immune system, which becomes weakened during pregnancy.

Morning Sickness
Extra virgin coconut oil may help reduce morning sickness by leveling off blood sugars.

Stretch Marks
Rubbing coconut oil on your belly may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks since it works as a natural moisturizer.

Nipple balm
Rub some coconut oil on dry nipples as an alternative to nipple balm and it is safe for babies to suckle after applied.

Curb the Constipation
Taking coconut oil daily during pregnancy may help reduce constipation since it acts as a natural laxative.

Tearing
Rubbing coconut oil can minimize tearing if applied daily.

Honey Water!

Honey water,

Alrighty so I did some research on milk and I did not like what I found and was looking for alternatives for my son. Although this is not what he drinks to replace cows milk (we settled on almond milk) this is so very healthy for anyone. There are so many benefits to having a glass of warm honey water each day. Including immunity to cold and cough, boosts your metabolism, helps with weight loss (even though my son doesn't need that), and keeps you regular, also adding lemon provides a lot more benefits. But during this crazy winter that can not make up its mind to be warm or cold, I was concerned since my son had gotten bronchitis and pneumonia last year. I wanted to try something that was natural and could keep him from getting it again. With our experience I can tell you it works! My son had gotten a small little cough along with a runny nose and I gave him some honey water through out the day and a few days later it was gone! I was so happy because I can't stand my baby sick. It keeps him regular and so much more. I love it because its all natural and just healthy. He drinks it every day. Mamas if you are looking for something that works and that is all natural try this. It can't hurt! (Do not give to children under the age of one)

Hey everyone! Ok! Let's see how this goes! This is my first blog and I have decided that it will be about the truths of mother hood, babies, birthing, natural remedies, natural beauty tips, things about my 2 year old and life with him. I am so passtionate about pregnancy and just everything to do with babies. I hope you enjoy!

Ok! So about me. I am 22 years old and a mother to a beautiful 2 year old boy. When I was 16 (2008) I met the love of my life and we have been together ever since. We are high school sweet hearts and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the fact that we have grown up together. In Feb. Of 2012 we found out we where pregnant and we where beyond excited. My pregnancy was not all that great due to me having "morning sickness" the whole time until I was 7 months pregnant. Even though it was me mostly hanging on to the toilet I still enjoyed every minute. The first time I felt him move made it all worth it. On October 5,2012 I had my water broken and went into labor and at 4:39pm, 2 hours of non stop pushing he was finally here and my life really just had begun. I tried breastfeeding but I could not keep up with him and was only able for 2 weeks. There are many things I would change about my delivery and breastfeeding but hey, you live and you learn. But I am thankful I have a healthy baby boy and everthying went well. Being a mother is the biggest blessing a woman can recieve . My son has grown into this perfect little boy and is so smart. He speaks very well and knows how to count to 20, all his abc 's. He tells me he loves me everyday and kisses me all over. I couldn't imagine my life with out this little human. Right now we are trying for baby #2 and I just can't wait. My only concern is, how could you love the second child as much as the first, but I have heard from other mothers that you will love them the same and it just comes naturaly. I can't wait to keep you all updated with my experiences of being a mother and things that I do with my son and hopefully soon 2nd child.

I hope you enjoyed my short but sweet about me and tune into my next update!

Love love!
